We provide as much care as we can for the strays of Mauritius, however the demand for homes is ever increasing.

All of our strays are fully vaccinated, health checked and cleared for transportation to the UK. We ensure every stray is handled with the upmost care when going through the transportation process, which we manage from our care facility in Mauritius right to your home in the UK. We handle all required documentation and health checks to prevent any hiccups along the way.

Can you help?

If you are looking to adopt, why not consider a Mauritian stray? We have many strays ready and waiting to find a new home and a loving owner, could you be one of them?

Adoption Important Information

We do not charge an adoption fee, however we do ask for a donation towards the travel costs of getting the dogs to the UK.
These costs include the following;

  • Preparation of dog for travel (this includes vaccinations, rabies injection, sterilisation, microchip and snap test) and Health Certificate issued by Mauritian State Vet.
  • Airline approved crate for travel.
  • Flight ticket from Mauritius to Paris with flight buddy.
  • Onward travel from Paris to Calais with either our driver and DEFRA approved vehicle, PET Taxi or DEFRA approved transporter.
  • Travel after customs checks from Calais to the UK via the Channel Tunnel to Folkestone.
  • Onward travel to the adopters address or arranged meeting place in the UK.
  • Or direct flight London Heathrow and onward travel by DEFRA approved transporter.
  • The adoption donation towards these costs are £450 for a pup 15 weeks to 5 months and £550 for a pup over 5 months and an adult dog due to the extra costs involved for the crate and flight,
  • As you can imagine the costs of bringing a pup/dog to the Uk to Mauritius on a 12 hour flight are expensive. These are the only costs paid by the adopter and the rest are covered by the charity,
  • Pre adoption Questionaire to asess suitability and home check are required.
  • Applications are only accepted from persons aged 25 and above.
  • Families with children under the age of 5 will only be considered for adoption of pups 6 months and under.
  • Families only at home due to COVID 19 will not be considered,
  • On acceptance to adopt with us a £100 non refundable deposit is required to show your commitment to your chosen pup/dog. This is deducted from your full adoption costs which are payable on confirmation of the date of your pup/dogs flight.
  • Please only apply if you fit all of the above criteria and are also  agreeable to the adoption conditons.
  • Due to the overwhelming amount of enquiries currently being received please allow 48 hours for a reply from your initial enquiry.

Ever considered Fostering?

Can't commit to adopting a stray full-time? Ever considered fostering?

Before strays are placed in to their new homes in the UK, they are often partnered with foster carers or families to ease their transition in to home life and sometimes assist with care whilst adoptive families are found. Fosterers play a vital part in the re-homing process and are in constant demand.

We are currently in need of caring foster families throughout the UK. If you could provide a foster home for any of our strays, please contact us to place your name on our foster register.

Thank you!
